<<<Back to About AACASA

I have been a member of AACASA since 1997.  I live in Northern Tasmania, with my husband Ted, 9 year old daughter Bonnie, and 5 year old son Jordan.

We adopted our daughter in January 1998 when she was a 6 month old baby.  In 2001, our biological son Jordan was born.

AACASA has now grown to have over 400 members.  A lot of members are families such as ours, who have adopted many years ago, and still continue to support others as well as the many projects AACASA assists with.

We are a National organisation with representatives in each state or territory.  Our current executive committee consists of members in Tasmania, Queensland, NSW and the Northern Territory.

To belong to AACASA, a yearly subscription is paid, and in return quarterly newsletters are sent, as well as an annual Calendar.   We have an egroup which is a wonderful form of communication and provides invaluable information.  We also offer an Adoption Package, which offers a lot of advice and information needed when traveling to Ethiopia.  As well as that it does save money as our package members receive discounts for foster care fees and special rates for Accommodation.

2007 is going to be an exciting year with many new projects in the pipeline.  100% of donations received go to Ethiopia.  We are able to do this as our annual membership fee covers any administration costs.  We have many dedicated volunteers that work hard to continually support the needs of the underprivileged children of Ethiopia.

It is not a requirement to become a member of AACASA to adopt from Ethiopia; however, the benefits far outweigh the small cost of joining.

If you have any interest in adopting a child from Ethiopia, or would like to assist in some small way with our projects, or simply join a social group, please do not hesitate to contact our representative in your state.  You will find their details on the Contacts page
