Chapel off Chapel in 2012
Described as the perfect play, the Australian premiere production of Bad Blood Blues will return to Chapel off Chapels The Loft Theatre from the 9th February 2012 for a limited two week run.
Original cast members Glenda Linscott and Blessing Mokgohloa will reprise their roles of Clare and Patrice in this powerful two hander. The production also features original live music from ARIA nominated jazz guitarist David Marama.
Written by British Playwright Paul Sirett (The Big Life, Come Dancing), Bad Blood Blues is an edge of your seat drama, which brings to life a debate of morality about African drug trials. Set in Africa, this powerfully intense and totally engrossing new play blends confronting issues and humour.
Clare is an Australian academic now based in Africa, Patrice a young office worker who says he is applying for a place at UCLA. There is an obvious contrast in their backgrounds and opportunities but it is the personal relationship between these two characters that provides the plot and structure for the play.
This is a play that packs a great deal, both ideas and humour, into its seventy minutes to leave you moved and stimulated.
Manilla Street Productions is excited to bring this powerful and thought provoking play back to Melbourne audiences. Dont miss it!
